Karaoke Questions Revisited...

I love the answers you've being giving to the questions "What song am I singing in Karaoke in this photo?" and "What song do/would you like to sing in Karaoke?"

Rachel would sing 'Funky Town, and along with Sam guessed Blue Moon, (which IS from the same communal era of our lives as 'the song'!) Sam also guessed U2 'With or Without You', or something from Coldplay's latest album - you were all most tasteful in your guessing, I must say!

Martin would sing Mr Oizo's 'Flatbeat. Caro would sing jamiroquai's 'Space Cowboy' or Tracy Chapman's 'Sorry', and guessed ABBA 'The Winner Takes it All', or The Beatles 'Let it Be' (which I did sing once in an audition for Les Miserables...an octave too high??!! My family and I laughed long and loud about that! Reminiscent of laughing for about an hour with Tom after failing my driving test for the __ time!!)

Bens guessed 'Sweet Child of Mine'. Mum sang 'Santa baby, hurry down the chimney tonight...', and guessed 'Catch a Falling Star', and Elvis' 'Love Me Tender, Love Me True', slightly out of tune (thanks Mum!).

I've been asked to give you A CLUE! (Remember Ab Fab??!! I LOVE that moment!)

Clue #1 - that's my good friend Laurel in the foreground - she may well remember what I was singing! She sang 'Video Killed the Radio Star'.

Clue #2 -The song I'm singing in this pic has 'the selfsame words and tune' (Shakespeare, in Macbeth), (well, selfsame TUNE, at least) to a shocking little number performed at Forster SUFM's summer 1988/9 concert (along with the Pharoahs and the Martyrs) in which April, Karina, Didy, Kath and I danced around Dave, clad in a psychedelic fluorescent helmet, singing

"Stunned Dave
You make me misbehave..."

Rosemary Davies was aghast, horrified, outraged, and the bizarre thing was that I, the author, in my teen naivite (sp?), was somehow oblivious to the sexual overtones of our performance. I remember we were truly surprised at Rosie's response. A few more words for you...

"...You do everything
sloooowly
C'mon stunned Dave
I wanna be your slave..."

Initially, when I thought of this clue, I thought 'How nice - a lullaby for my dear little nephew David'. Maybe not.

SO, what would you sing, and what did I sing??!! I look forward to Karaoking with you some day!!!!!
Happy guessing?!!!!!

Comments

Rachel just said, as I was struggling for it, "Wild Thing". What's the prize????
your "Let it Be" an octave too high story really makes me laugh whenever i think about it. i love it!!

sam and i got hysterical tonight because i managed to make chocolate brownies that tasted like pork crackling, oozed oil and made us both feel sick! I bake something for a cafe at church once a month and everyone seems to arrive with these enormous beautiful sponge cakes oozing with cream and jam! My baking attempts on the other hand always seem to be disasters. My main mistake is finding we have no butter in the house so instead using LARD. when it happened again i thought, i must tell megan.

sorry i haven't taken part in your karaoke guessing game. this story is my alternate offering as i always draw a blank at those games.

love becca

Oh Megs, I can't remember that happening at beach mission, but I know Rosemary found us terribly 'common' (to use her word), LOL.
